Friday 19th February saw Mr. Joe McHugh TD, the Minister for the Gaeltacht and Natural Resources witness the graduation of a group of EQUAL Ireland participants who had completed the Higher Certificate in Workplace and Community Studies which is accredited by Athlone Institute of Technology. Having successfully completed their studies in such subject as Community Development, Information Management, Applied Sociology, Campaigning & Media Skills as well as Human Resource Management and EU Studies this highly competent group will now begin the process of making a serious contribution to the development and life of their communities in and around Belmullet. While many of the Graduates have gone straight onto EQUAL Ireland’s BA in Business Enterprise and Community Development, also accredited by AIT, some have decided to take a well earned rest from academia before taking on a new challenge. In both cases we wish these Graduates the very best for the future!
